C.A.R.E. or "Check And Respond Everyday" is an automated telephone
system designed to check on elderly and disabled homebound citizens.

The purpose of this system is to allow elderly residents and persons with
disabilities to remain independent while having the CARE system
    check on them daily.

The CARE system will call the registered resident up to three times per day.
Calls are made at requested times between 8:00am and10:00pm and can be
made every day of the week or on days chosen by the resident.

CARE calls are made by a computer.
The resident hears a friendly pre-recorded voice.
The call must be answered or a designated alert number will
be called with an appropriate message given to the party.

The system can be set up to call with a reminder to take medication.

The CARE system is provided as a service by Sheriff Robert J. McCabe
and the Norfolk Sheriff's Office so there is NO CHARGE to the resident.

To apply for the CARE program, please call (757) 441 - 5080.
